So there's this evangelical Christian group called Answers in Genesis (headed by a former biology teacher turned minister) that apparently goes around leading workshops where they teach kids to ask their teachers rude questions (like "Were you there?" if they mention dinosaurs) every time the question of evolution or the creation of the universe/planets is mentioned. How useful.

In other news, the 20th Winter Olympics have started. Rah. I haven't seen the entire Opening Ceremony yet, because @#$%*&! NBC put in an hour of filler before showing the opening, so it ended up going 'til midnight. I zonked out shortly after the Ferrari did the doughnuts on the stage. Funny, considering how poorly Ferrari did in Formula 1 last year (the only race they won was the US Grand Prix, when 7 out of 10 teams dropped out over tire safety issues). You wouldn't think they'd want to be celebrating that...

Also unsurprising - once again, NBC is tape-delaying things to a fare-thee-well - medal results are already up on several websites (including NBC's own!) for events that they won't be showing until this afternoon, if at all. (I suspect, for instance, that the men's 20K biathlon is not a television-friendly event, at least in the United States.)
