thousands of Germans crying in their Bier
Jul. 4th, 2006 09:44 pmoh, the heartbreak for the Germans. 2 goals in the final minute of the second overtime period, and the Azzuri of Italy take the match. whoo!
meanwhile, here I sit with a kid freaking out over the loud noises outside (Santa Cruz has no official 4th of July display, but the local beaches tend to be free-fire zones for the un-safe, in-sane (you know, the fun kind) fireworks.). and the National Symphony only played the last 5 minutes of the 1812 Overture on "A Capitol Fourth," which is just chintzy. (Though those are the most exciting five minutes, with the cannon fire and all. It's not like they didn't have enough time to play the whole thing, though.)
oh well, tomorrow is another day.
