knowing the codes

this afternoon, i'm taking the RICA (Reading Instruction Competency Assessment). further progress along the road toward a teaching credential.
thing about tests like this is, not only do you have to have good answers, you have to couch them in the proper buzzwords. fortunately, i speak fluent educational bureaucratese, and i've crammed a bunch of the terms for various reading concepts (onsets and rimes! decoding! oh my!) into my head.
unfortunately, i did not sleep well last night, so i have a feeling that i'm going to have to dip into my stash of chocolate-coated coffee beans for this.
still, could be worse... it could be the MS-CSET (Multiple Subject-California Subject Examination for Teachers), which i'm taking next month. If it were, I'd have to be there already (note posting time).
