back into the grind
Feb. 6th, 2006 07:13 pmSo this morning, I was at my wife's class helping her with a presentation. (Taking pictures, mostly, but some contributions as well.) I also dropped off the remainder of my paperwork for becoming a sub at that school (my clearance came through! yay!).
Half an hour later, I'm taking her shift as a yard duty while she changes clothes, and one of the sixth grade teachers comes over and asks if I'm available to sub on Thursday. Sure, I say.
While this conversation is underway, one of the office people comes running out and says that the PE teacher isn't back from his weekend camping trip, and PE is starting in five minutes... could I sub? now?
So I took two PE classes today. (The missing teacher turned up at lunch.) What a way to get back into subbing after six years away...
Book: Fatal Voyage, Kathy Reichs.
