the mundanity of monday
Jan. 23rd, 2006 12:58 pmFor reasons unknown, I didn't get to sleep until late last night. Well, technically early this morning, really. One of those nights where my brain just can't shut itself down.
Made it hard to get out of bed this morning, I tell you...
So I'm trying, once again, to get someone (anyone!) to come clean our heating ducts. We've only had the heater on a couple times this winter 'cause every time it goes on it smells odd and our allergies go into overdrive. i opened up the utility closet (where the furnace and water heater live, just outside the back door) and discovered, um, signs that rats had been in there. would explain the smell and the allergies. anyway, having struck out with Santa Cruz Duct Cleaning (they never called back) and ServPro (ditto), I'm now trying Affordable Heating and Air. I have higher hopes here, as a couple of our neighbors have used them and said they did a great job. If only they call back...
