pushin' the pedals
May. 22nd, 2007 06:54 pmso last week, after getting my bike out for the first time since the fall bike-to-work week, i resolved to ride more often. so i tossed the bike in the back of my truck and took it to work today, looking forward to my hour-long lunch.
i had a vague idea of where i wanted to go, so i headed up Scotts Valley Drive to the Granite Creek overpass. Went from Granite Creek to South Navarra Road, then took the bike path from the end of that to Green Hills Road. Green Hills led me to Glen Canyon Road, which took me under the freeway to Mt. Hermon Road. Mt. Hermon took me back to Scotts Valley Drive, which I then ascended to return to work.
Total distance: 5.1 miles according to Google Maps. Time: 40 minutes. Not great, but not bad for a rusty old fart.
If i can do this every day i'm at work, i sense something more closely resembling fitness in my future.
