i am seriously amused, eh

so here i am at work and one of our long-term residents comes in to pay his gas bill.
he asks me if i'm from Canada. i say "no, born & raised in California." he says he's from Toronto and i sure sound like home to him.

why the amusement? there was a time in high school when a certain subset of my friends and i went out of our way to talk like Canucks. being obsessed with Rush and the McKenzie Brothers, you know? so anyway, apparently some of that stuck.

i guess it would make sense that if any of my pseudo-Canadian accent stuck i would sound like i came from Toronto, 'cause that's where the members of Rush were from and where Bob & Doug McKenzie were allegedly from.

still, pretty funny, eh?
